Father Bill Atkinson Pilgrimage

Join our pilgrimage!

Walk with us on the Father Bill Atkinson Pilgrimage, Thursday, September 17. We’ll gather in prayer at Villanova, journey together to Our Lady of the Assumption, and share food, fellowship, and community along the way.

  • St. Thomas of Villanova Church

    • 3:00 PM – Registration

    • 3:30 PM – Opening Prayer Service with Fr. Rob Hagan, O.S.A. (begins promptly)

    Pilgrimage Walk (4 miles, accessible)

    • 4:30 PM – Pilgrimage begins

    • 6:00 PM – Last Mile Prayer at Friends of Radnor Trail Park*

    • 6:30 PM – Arrival at Our Lady of the Assumption (OLA)

    • 6:35 PM – Closing Prayer Service with Fr. Bill Gabriel, O.S.A. and Fr. Gerald Carey

    • 7:00 PM – Food & fellowship at OLA

  • Parking at Villanova
    Park in L2 or L3 lots and walk across the bridge. ADA parking is available at the church lot off Spring Mill Rd. (Note: I-1 garage requires paid exit.)

    Transportation back to Villanova
    Shuttles will return pilgrims from OLA. Please complete the survey to reserve a seat.

    Prayer Intentions
    You may write intentions at registration. Service Corps members will carry them during the walk.

    T-Shirts
    Pre-ordered shirts will be available at registration. A limited number will be for sale.

    Bathrooms
    Available at St. Thomas, OLA, Radnor Trail Park (code 1-2-3), and along the trail (porta-potties).

    Walk Safety
    Escorts and walk leaders will guide the group. Vans are available for those unable to complete the walk.

    Water & Food
    Water stations will be along the route. Pizza, fruit, pretzels, cookies, and soft drinks will be served at OLA.

    Weather
    Rain or shine. Ponchos will be provided. If walking is not possible, alternate arrangements will be announced at St. Thomas.
